A veterinarian is much more than your pet's general physician.  Your veterinarian is also your pet's surgeon, radiologist, neurologist, dermatologist, pharmacist,  pediatrician, anesthesiologist, obstetrician, nutritionist, and yes, even psychiatrist!  At Parkway Animal Hospital, you can rest assured we are able to take care of your pet for a full life-time.

Did you know it takes at least four years of medical school to become a veterinarian? (and that is usually after obtaining at least a four year undergraduate degree).

Did you know a veterinarian in Tennessee must take a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education courses every year in order to stay licensed?

Did you know there are working veterinarians in the armed forces, in government positions and even in NASA?

Our Vets:

Doctor Lisa White is the principle veterinarian at Parkway Animal Hospital.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and American Animal Hospital Association.

Of course, most veterinarians began their "careers" as animal-crazy children, and Dr. White is no exception.  She was involved in 4-H and local humane shelters long before leaving high school.  After receiving a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Ursinus College, she then graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  In 1989, Dr. White came to Nashville to continued her studies with a preceptorship in wildlife medicine.  She continued to work as both a small and large animal veterinarian in the middle Tennessee area before moving to Jackson ten years ago.  Since acquiring Parkway Animal Hospital, Dr. White has added new laboratory and diagnostic equipment and expanded the staff to provide better services to the greater Madison County area.  Jackson has become home to Dr. White, her husband and their daughter, (not to mention her dogs, cats, horses and pony!)  She has been involved in the community by supporting many causes such as the Carl Perkins Center, the Jackson Symphony, the Jackson Arts Council and the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society.
